Client Organizations

Each client of your MSP is a separate organization. It has its own domains, reports, alerts, team and settings. It uses the plan of the MSP and counts towards its limits. Manage clients from MSP console → Clients.

Create a client

Click Create client and enter a name. The new client is ready immediately. The owner of the MSP becomes its owner. Then enter the client to add domains, or import domains for many clients at once with a CSV (see Bulk operations).

A company that already uses DMARC Examiner can become your client and keep its data:

  1. Ask the owner of that organization for its slug. They find it in Settings → Organization.
  2. Click Link organization, enter the slug and send the request.
  3. The owner receives an email and accepts or rejects the request. The request expires after 14 days. It cannot be accepted if the organization does not fit in the client, domain or user limits of the MSP.

When the owner accepts:

  • The organization becomes your client and keeps all its data.
  • Its own subscription is cancelled at once. The unused part of the period is not refunded. From then on it uses the plan of the MSP.
  • The owner of the MSP becomes its owner, and the previous owner becomes an admin.

Delete a client

Open the actions of a client and choose Delete client. The client is suspended at once, and its data is permanently deleted after 30 days. Until then you can click Restore to undo it. A client scheduled for deletion does not count towards your domain limit.

If the client had hosted DMARC or SPF records, they enter the retirement period. See Hosted DMARC and SPF records.

Detach a client

Detaching gives a client its independence. Only the owner of the MSP can do it.

  1. Open the actions of the client and choose Detach.
  2. Choose which member of the client becomes its new owner. The client needs at least one member of its own; invite one first if needed.

The client becomes an independent organization on the Free plan and keeps its data. The new owner can then choose a paid plan. Each user can own only one Free organization, so the new owner cannot already own another Free organization.

Hosted DMARC and SPF records of a detached client enter the retirement period.

If the MSP subscription ends

If the subscription of the MSP is cancelled or expires, the MSP and all its clients become read-only for 30 days. Users can still see everything, but cannot change anything. After 30 days, the MSP and its clients move to the Free plan.
