SMTP2GO

SMTP relay and email API.

Setup Steps

  1. 1In SMTP2GO, go to Sending > Verified Senders > Sender domains and add your domain
  2. 2SMTP2GO gives you three CNAME records
  3. 3The first one, starting with "em", is the return-path subdomain and covers SPF. The second one covers DKIM. The third one is for tracking and link rewriting
  4. 4Add the three CNAME records at your DNS provider. On Cloudflare, set them to "DNS only" (grey cloud)
  5. 5Wait for the domain to show as Verified in the Status column

Last step: publish a DMARC record. It sends you a daily report of every message sent as your domain, including the ones from SMTP2GO.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to add include:spf.smtp2go.com to my SPF record?

No. SMTP2GO covers SPF with the first CNAME record, which points the "em" subdomain used as return path to its servers. Your existing SPF record stays as it is.

Why does my SMTP2GO domain switch between verified and unverified?

Your authoritative DNS servers are still returning different answers. Wait for the CNAME records to propagate to all of them.
