Shopify Email
Store notifications and email marketing from Shopify.
Setup Steps
- 1From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Notifications
- 2In the Sender email section, click Email domain authentication
- 3If your domain is at Cloudflare, GoDaddy or IONOS, Shopify can configure the DNS records automatically
- 4Otherwise, add at your DNS provider all the CNAME records that the modal shows you. They handle DKIM and SPF, and their number can vary
- 5Add a DMARC TXT record at _dmarc. The default record from Shopify is v=DMARC1; p=none;
- 6Click "I updated DNS records" and wait until the status shows Authenticated
Last step: add a rua address to your DMARC record. With it, you get a daily report of every message sent as your domain, including the ones from Shopify Email.

Do I add a Shopify include to my SPF record?
No. The CNAME records you add during domain authentication handle SPF for your sender email address. You do not need a separate SPF TXT record for this.
What happens if my domain is not authenticated in Shopify?
Shopify rewrites your sender email address to an address like store+123@shopifyemail.com.
Can I keep adkim=s or aspf=s in my DMARC record?
Shopify recommends removing them, or changing them to adkim=r and aspf=r, for the best deliverability.
