SPF Include
Add this include to your SPF record to authorize OVHcloud to send emails on behalf of your domain.
Add to SPF recordAlready have an SPF record? A domain can only have one: add this include to the existing record instead of creating a second one. How to merge multiple SPF records
Setup Steps
- 1In the OVHcloud Control Panel, go to Web Cloud > Domain names and select your domain
- 2Open the "DNS zone" tab and click "Add an entry"
- 3Choose the SPF type and tick "Include OVH email servers", or add include:mx.ovh.com to your existing SPF record
- 4DKIM is enabled by default for MX Plan, Email Pro, Exchange and Zimbra. If it is disabled, enable it from your email service in the Control Panel
- 5If your DNS is outside OVHcloud, add the two CNAME records it gives you (ovhmo<id>-selector1._domainkey and ovhmo<id>-selector2._domainkey)
- 6Wait 4 to 24 hours for propagation
Last step: publish a DMARC record. It sends you a daily report of every message sent as your domain, including the ones from OVHcloud.

Why do SPF checkers warn about include:mx.ovh.com?
The record behind mx.ovh.com uses ptr mechanisms, which RFC 7208 says not to use: they are slow and some receivers ignore them. It is still the value OVHcloud documents, so keep it and make sure DKIM is active, so DMARC can pass through DKIM.
What is my OVHcloud DKIM selector?
It is specific to your account and looks like ovhmo1234567-selector1. You find it in the DKIM section of your email service, or in the CNAME records OVHcloud gives you.
