SPF Include
Add this include to your SPF record to authorize Fastmail to send emails on behalf of your domain.
Add to SPF recordAlready have an SPF record? A domain can only have one: add this include to the existing record instead of creating a second one. How to merge multiple SPF records
Setup Steps
- 1In Fastmail, go to Settings > Domains, click "Add or buy domain" and choose "Use a domain you already own"
- 2SPF: a TXT record at the root of your domain with v=spf1 include:spf.messagingengine.com ?all
- 3DKIM: three CNAME records, fm1._domainkey, fm2._domainkey and fm3._domainkey, pointing to fm1.yourdomain.com.dkim.fmhosted.com, fm2.yourdomain.com.dkim.fmhosted.com and fm3.yourdomain.com.dkim.fmhosted.com
- 4DMARC: a TXT record at _dmarc with v=DMARC1; p=none;
- 5If your DNS is at Cloudflare, set the records to DNS only (grey cloud) so Fastmail can detect them
- 6Go back to Settings > Domains and click the domain to check that everything is set up correctly
Last step: add a rua address to your DMARC record. With it, you get a daily report of every message sent as your domain, including the ones from Fastmail.

Do I need all three Fastmail DKIM records?
Yes. Fastmail asks you to add all three CNAME records: fm1._domainkey, fm2._domainkey and fm3._domainkey.
Can I add a second SPF record for Fastmail?
No. More than one TXT record starting with v=spf1 causes an issue with SPF detection. Add include:spf.messagingengine.com to your existing record.
What if Fastmail hosts my DNS?
Then Fastmail configures your domain for email automatically, including DKIM and SPF.
